Gonstead Guitars. The goal of this site is not only to inform
you about Sven Gonstead and the fine instruments that he produces,
but also create a forum for people that are dedicated to hand
crafted instruments, and provide technical support for his customers.
We live in a marveling time of technological advances. Yet, what
makes this era even more exciting is a regenerating appreciation
for individually crafted art. There are few things more fulfilling
than having an artisan create with distinction and conviction.
In the case of Sven Gonstead, his craft is luthiery.
It is a wonderfully complex art that integrates form, function,
and physics.
Sven strongly believes that the perfect instrument is different
in everyone's mind. For this reason, he constructs instruments
that pursue a plethora of tonal textures meant to inspire. From
tree to finished guitar, the level of attention placed on pursuing
that goal is unsurpassed. This is what separates a custom builder
